When a situation occurs in your life that is out of your control, you start to question why? Why did this have to happen to me? What did I do to deserve this? How did I let this happen? It is almost hard to put the puzzle pieces together. It becomes confusing and foggy. When great power and control is taken from a human, the body and mind go into a weak state. These feelings can cause severe anger and discouragement. It’s understandable, normal, and a natural happening.
When choices you made are responsible for your disaster, anger can be more prominent. You can feel dumb, stupid, or…even more… guilty! Maybe you didn’t blow out a candle before leaving the house, or you kept setting off that doctors appointment. These incidents happen all the time…every single day. It is important to push that angry feeling away. If it’s not pushed away, you allow it to take over. You can not let the anger consume your thoughts and actions…
This is why taking responsibility is so important. Taking responsibility clarifies the mind as to what has happened. Instead of feeling angry, you start to accept the situation. Forgiveness in yourself starts to become easier and the negative energy fades away…Not only forgiveness in yourself, but in others who may have been involved.
Guide to Forgiveness:
- Remember…the past is the past!
- Know that time heals everything
- Remind yourself that you’re trying the best you can
- Everything happens for a reason
- Lastly, understand what you want
Anger is a waste of energy. It only causes sadness in yourself, family and friends. Keep your head up. It’s OK to be angry, but you have to turn that anger into acceptance. Increase your psychological well being and survive!
